Two almost pinlike "holes on both sides where presumably a shoulder
strap is intended. Any advice about where to find one or make one?
Sunpak tripod does work with camera. Just had to screw several more
times and screws off.Vivitar Thryster doesn't seem to fit on shoe
mount. Have an interest in infred film. What special settings would I
use. Got Kodak HEI which I read has to be loaded in total darkness.

As for the shoulder strap issue-- You put small split rings, sort of like a
key ring only smaller, perhaps a half-inch in diameter, through those holes,
then attach the strap to those. Some of the straps will include a small thin
leather piece that goes on the lug (the protrusion with the 'pinlike
holes'), then you install the rings. The leather piece protects the camera
body from the strap ends, plus when they get wet, they make the camera smell
like a wet collie!

For odds and ends like the rings, I suggest www.porterscamerastore.com
(Porter's Camera Store in Cedar Falls, Iowa). They've got just about
everything, their service is good, but their prices are often a bit high.
( I have no personnel stake in Porter's; I'm just a satisfied customer)
