You do realize Serge, that Windows manages colour for all it's (MS)
programs? When you see an image in IE, you see it without any recognition
of the profile you assigned or embedded. If the colours were more or less
saturated in Photoshop with "your" profile, they will look different in a
browser... Always less than optomial.
I've taken recently to saving web images minus any profile. The images
here are void of any ICC profile information.

They will display exactly as any desktop background picture you might use.
ICC profiles are intended to "match" various parts of a computer system.
The most significant is matching paper and ink of a printer but can also
be used to for other things. When you "save for web", the presumption is
always that a sRGB "standard" is adhered to.
