Hi,
I need some suggestions from all of you on this. What kind of lens would you
need to use to record bees (each about 3/4'' in length) on a comb that is
approximately 6" x 8" in size such that I can have the entire comb in one
frame while at the same time being able to have enough magnification to look
at individual bees. I could get as close as about 1' from the comb. I've
been looking at the Canon XL2 as a possibility. While this camcorder
satisfies the rest of my criteria, I'm not sure which lens I should go for
since it has an interchangeable lens system and has a choice of lenses. Some
of the choices available for lenses and accessories are:
1. 20x Zoom 5.4-108mm f/1.6-3.5
2. 16x Zoom 5.5-88mm f/1.6-2.6
3. Wide-Angle 3x Zoom 3.4-10.2mm f/1.8-2.2
4. Extender 1.6x (Not compatible with the 3x Zoom)
5. Converter 0.8x (Not compatible with the 3x Zoom)
6. Wide-angle converter 0.72x
7. And most Canon EF lenses using an EF adapter
I would be happy to elaborate further on what I'm trying to do.
Thanks.
