I have a Vivitar zoom lens, 28-105mm. It is a 1 touch zoom, so there is one
ring both for zooming and focusing. The focussing motion is stuck. The lens
zooms freely, by the ring will not turn in the focusing direction. Is there
anything I could do before sending it off to the repair shop? This is a,
well, old lens, with manual focus.
Thank you,
Maciej

I'd shop carefully before sending it to a repair shop. Unless it has
sentimental value (some of my cameras and lenses do), you might be
well-advised to simply replace it and use it as a paperweight. Repair could
go $100+, replacement thru eBay might be considerably less.
