What did you do to the out-of-focus area right of the animal?
An earthquake? Merged in background from a catadioptic lens?
Poisoned it till it puked?

C'mon, Wolf, we're trying to encourage 'her'.

Yes, it's bad, but note the *improvement* in bokeh (and exposure/
highlight control) over her earlier shots, like this:

http://www.geocities.com/ritaberk2008/double_stick.htm

It's not so much the result... it's whether it is better than the
last....

(Just as an aside, Rita, have you not noticed how silly you look
responding to messages that don't exist because of your stupid
crossposting and followup habits that break up threads? Look at this
one via aus.photo...)

Folks are indeed more than welcome to view images of mine at www.marktphoto.com
You will note that I don't post them here claiming they are
unbeatable, superlative images entirely dependent on particular lenses/
bodies. That's Rita. The spider images were posted in response to a
joke thread, yet they are the ones she repeatedly posts - presumably
as her idea of my best work? Why not something even worse, like:
http://www.marktphoto.com/examples/cazneauxtree.jpg

? And strangely Rita *never* offers actual criticism or specifics.
These aren't great images, but do you see me proclaiming them as
such? I think it is best to correct Rita when she states that *her*
images are superlative creations. Like mine (and some of yours,
Sosumi, for that matter), they are not.

And Sosumi, why didn't you check to see if others *had* posted images
before making statements? Feel free to offer constructive criticism
to my images. I note you simply complimented Rita on the sharpness of
hers, saying that it was sharp 'nose to tail'. Is it, Rita? Can you
post a full res crop showing that? I'm not doubting it, mind.. I just
think it is pretty lame that you only ever manage 1024x768... Why not
something a little bigger:

http://www.marktphoto.com/examples/brisbane_at_night_draft.jpg
That one has *lots* of faults - I'll be posting an updated version
shortly, but feel free to critique it as well.

Carry on. (O:

Why don't both of you put your money where your mouth is and show us the
much better shots *you* took?

Are you saying only an artist may critique an artist's work?
And, by extension, only a (successful?) office holder may vote
someone into or out of office?

In that case: please put your money where your mouth is and show us
YOUR better shots, "Sosumi", so we may see that you are, indeed,
capable of critiquing photographs.

*And* YOUR better critiques, so we may see that you are,
indeed, capabable of critiquing critiques.
