I discovered recently this information:

http://www.colour-science.com/quality%20test%20tools/IT87negatives/IT8...eg_prod

Since Wolf Faust does not offer any negative targets for scanner
profiles, I was intrigued by this idea of IT8 film strip with
additional +/- steps exposure on them. Negative film has a lot
of latitude and such exposures might be of great interest.

I wonder if someone has been using these targets? Are they good
and exact?

Furthermore, they also have Agfa slide targets on their list,
which Wolf Faust still does not offer! I am tempted to order!

Hi,
yes I am using them - mine came from Fuji. I have made very good
experiences with them and plan to write more about color negative IT8
targets and their use on my website <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.gnyman.com" target="_blank">http://www.gnyman.com</a>
I do not know that manufacturer but I shall know more within short...
Let me know if you buy them how they are etc please! I am interested in
your feedback!

I ordered some of these calibration strips and I will come back with
some results. They suggested to me that with negative materials in
the practice there might be a problem with exaggerated contrast
while using profiles made from these calibration strips. In that
case they suggested to raise the contrast of the scanned target
manually, by preserving its color balance, and make a profile from
such target. This sounds a bit strange to me. I think we scan a
target and use a profile to avoid any tweaks. I can hardly wait to
make some hands on experiments.
