Uh...is it possible that what you are refering to as the diaphragm...is really
just the reflection of the lamp used to make the photograph? The iris blades
seem to all be in place and the lens seems to look as if it's closed all the
way down.

I thought you were referring to the studio shutter. A lot of these
old protrait lenses had 'em. BTW, if you know where I can get one
fixed . . .
