Southern California Wildflowers

I was in Death Valley the past few days, and because of the relatively
large amount of rainfall they have been receiving in the past month or
so, the wildflowers are starting to come out early. In fact, the park
people are predicting that mid-February could be the peak of the
wildflower season there this year, and that it will be the best in the
past decade.

Can anyone descibe where other good places are to photograph
wildflowers in the Southern California area, and (if predicted), when
they might be at their peak? (Or refs to web sites?) Thanks.

Looks like it will be a good year for wildflowers in the desert areas
of So. Calif.

The wild flower bloom out near Anza-Borrego should be excellent this year as well.
I don't have a reliable prediction but Feb-Apr. should be a good time period due to
the variety of flowering plants and cactus in that area.
