Can anyone recomend a source on the web for small generic parts for LF
cameras?
I've got one of the old grey Calumet 4X5's. It works fine; I like it.
But, two of the screws holding the lensboard clips gave up and broke of
old age. I've tried all of the sources I can think of in my community,
but can't find anything that has screws of the size I need. Any
suggestions?
I know this'll make many folks cringe, but I'm currently holding the
lensboards on with duct tape! It works OK, but still, it's
embarrassing. Help me out, 'K? >> Stay informed about: Small Screws & Hardware - Web Source? |

Not for LF cameras, nor any kind of cameras specifically, but Small Parts
sells just what their name suggests. (I recently got a bunch of steel balls
from them, which exactly fit the project I was working on.)

I really doubt if this would make many folks here cringe. More likely
sympathy. Been there, done that. (Now if you degenerate to chewing gum, that's
another story.)

I cringe because, good gosh man, you should always have some Gaffer's tape
on hand!  <!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Small Screws & Hardware - Web Source? |

I didn't have a good experience with these people but they do
stock lots of the type stuff that is useful.

Cringe? Not at all. I think the duct tape harmonizes very well with
the gray Calumet.
Seriously, try a hobby shop if there is one locally. I know my local
Rider's Hobby has small screws and bolts/nuts stocked for model airplane
and railroad builders.

That's what keeps my Sinar Zoom Back shut, given the design has a very cheap
spring for the locking mechanism - Grrr! Nothing wrong with sticky tape and
string!

These are shoulder screws. They are used on other Calumet
cameras. Call Calumet, they may still have some parts in
stock for these cameras despite their age.
