Archived from groups: rec>photo>equipment>35mm (more info?)

Hello All;

I've been doing some research/price checking on a new digital, and
I found one of the lowest prices at K&G photo. I did a search on
Google but really could find any info on them. I usually buy from
B&H but the price of a Nikon D100 is almost $400 cheaper at K&G..

Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with this company..?

TIA

- John

And exactly who is K&G? Do they have a physical address? Is there
feedback on them at Photo.net or any of the other places that rate
businesses? Are you about to give your credit card information to a scammer
who will dissapear tomorrow? Are you about to recieve something totally
different from what you think you are ordering? Are you about to find out
what screwed, blued and tatooed really means?

Ha! I like the review from the guy who says he'd rather stick a hot poker
in his eye.

Gotta be honest with you... I''m no shill for B&H, but I bought my D100
there for $2000 (at the time the lowest price) and would never think of
making a major purchase anywhere else, although I'm sure there are MANY
stores just as reputable. (I live in NYC, so it's very convenient for me).

I agree, though, that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

S&G is a large reputable used photo equipment dealer that does a lot
of photo shows in DC, as well as a mail order business. See
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.sg-photo.com/" target="_blank">http://www.sg-photo.com/</a>
It has been around at least 10 years (when I first encountered them).
I always thought their prices were a tad high.
