What are your views on the Pentex KX? I am thinking of buying one. ITs in good
shape.
I was looking at the Super Program, but its getting to complex, just like many
cameras today. The KX looks simple, and easy, just like what I learned on.
Any helpful thoughts or ideas?

Thanks,
Bob

I got the ZX-M, which is a follow-on the the K-1000, more or less. I
can easily over-ride all of the automation, and even ignore the light
meter readings in the viewfinder, using a hand-held meter <gasp>. It
does use batteries for the shutter and film advance/rewind, and
metering. I do like the dedicated flash system -- I have a Vivitar
unit. However, with a hot shoe adapter, it works just fine with my old
thyristor automatic Vivitar flash. The only problem I have is that it
doesn't like to rewind plastic bulk load cassettes. I will have to get
some metal ones. BTW, you can set the ISO rating for the metering
manually.

The 30-85 mm Pentax zoom is pretty handy, but I also have a 50mm
Pentax and 28mm Phoenix <gasp> lenses as well. I should point out that
I was raised on EARLY rangefinder Leicas and Pentax screw-mount
spotmatics.
