I own the Sunpak DX12R and I am not too happy with it. I feel the flash is
not strong enough. It has a guide number of 40. I have used it on my
Pentax 645N with the Sunpak PT2D
module and using Kodak ektacrome 100 film setting my 120mm lens at 1:1
macro and shooting at f16 to get good depth of field I find that the film
came back 1/2 to 1 full stop under exposed. I would recommend trying it
before dropping almost $300.00 on this setup. Let me know it any of this
helps I am going to test it some more but I think I will go back to a
dedicated flash held off camera. I have the Pentax AF500FTZ flash (guide
number 160) that I use off camera with a dedicated TTL cord and get good
results.
