I'm trying to decide between these two models. The only differences that I
see:

FZ5 FZ20K
------------- ---------------------
11 elements 13 elements
F2.8 to F3.3 F2.8 across the board

$$ not being an issue, is the FZ20K the clear winner here?

Slack,

There's a group specially for this type of SLR-like camera over at:

news:rec.photo.digital.zlr

and you'll find a few discussions about the FZ20 there. I'll copy your
question over there and set follow-ups.

The FZ5 is a considerably lighter camera, and therefore has different
trade-offs. I guess you will need to compare the images directly -
assuming the other facilities are identical. Do you need a flash
hot-shoe, for example? If weight was important to me, I might choose the
FZ5, as the slightly smaller aperture isn't quite so critical for lower
light situations when you have the image stabilisation to help you.

Cheers,
