Post subject: Another Nikon 8800 question
Archived from groups: rec>photo>digital>zlr (more info?)

Hi, All.

I'm learning rapidly about the 8800 but it seems that the
more I learn the more questions I have. I printed the full
spec sheets for the 8800 camera, and the SB-600 & 800
flashes from Nikon's web site.

I found out that the 8800 has a shooting mode called
"Museum". That obviously intrigues me since I shoot so
many car pictures in museums with flash, and it is
challenging at best.

Can anyone help me understand what Museum does different
than, say Landscape?

TIA.

Ed Ruf commented courteously ...

Excellent suggestion, Ed! I will do that.

Meanwhile, I did find out that Museum blocks flash in
favor of optimizing certain aspects of the 8800's
photometrics (as I call it, which may be incorrect) to
bias exposure, brightness, sharpness, contrast, color
balance, etc. for typical "museum" conditions.
