Ever since Nikon announced a 'release date' of November 23 for this
lens, some of us have been wondering where it is. Adorama finally sent
an email this morning saying mine has been shipped. A nice Christmas
present indeed, considering that it will not be here before Christmas.
Still, I am looking forward to using this lens. This morning I counted
(in my front yard) two bald eagles, a great blue heron, several flocks
of ducks of different varieties, three loons, half a dozen seagulls of
two or three species, and numerous smaller shorebirds and others that
winter here. So I think I can keep this lens busy for awhile, at least.
