The curious thing Troy...
Is that while all you jokers are having a great old time poking fun at
me, I'm sitting back reaping in the rewards of all you lot are doing
by getting the ranking of my web site up the # 1 on the search
engines. I've never concealed the fact I use the sheep and jackasses
in these groups to pump my web sites.

While the Tennessee Jackass was getting his rocks off defacing my
client images and poking fun at the one legged groom... My wedding
photography booking doubled. Why? His antics and the sheep who
imitated him got my site thousands of "quality links" I'd have had to
pay serious money to get any other way.

If you think I posted the Frangipanni shot - complete with bait for
the jackass and his stooges just to hear how good or bad you all
thought it was, think again. By next month when I put the prints on
sale, there will be thousands of so called "forums" that leach off
Usenet providing quality links to frangipanni searches and my site
will top the list.

It's not me wasting my time in these groups Troy... It's you!

Helloooooooo!!?? Doug? Duuuuhh-ug! Your silence is deafening.

You can't keep crying victim that all the bullies are picking on
you when you drop bombs like your OP in this thread. I think you
have enough enemies and people against you. You don't need to
drag in new blood.

Or maybe that's what you want - everyone to hate you. Congrats,
you're well on the way. But I don't hate you. I feel sorry for
you. You're pathetic. You're a hypocrit. You're the boy who
cried wolf. You're the boy who teases someone until they lashed

Wake up to yourself. You are supposedly a professional, ethical
photographer and human being. I have yet to see evidence of
that.

If you have a manual setting on the camera one sure way is to use the
preview image to adjust the exposure. Once adjusted its not going to
change very much.

Reversing rings don't meter.

But you do require a lens with an aperture ring for manual adjustment.

Plus using the lens normally you can use an Auto 2x converter, this will
allow close focus. This will give you metering.

Well, yes, actually.

Waiting in a post office queue this afternoon, I happened to be glancing
through a calendar that was on sale. Being Feb., it was half-price - though
still a bit rich for a tightwad like me. They sell for quite a bit, full
retail.

It was a wildlife calendar and one of the pix was of a butterfly (or a
moth?), which was, by any reasonable standard, a macro shot.

It seems to have worked for him (the photographer) and he seems to know what
he's doing - judging by the evidence.
Maybe you've heard of him. Steve Parish. http://www.steveparish.com.au/
I imagine his annual turnover would, at least, somewhat approach yours?
Maybe even exceed it?

Maybe he knows something you don't (mmpphhhh!)

Worthless? By who's measure?
How does their obvious skill in one area make them "cretins"?
Who knows what else the photographers are doing with their snaps?

> Is there a hidden agenda here somewhere or have digital cameras
> produced a whole new generation of happy snappers with an over
> abundance of ego and an under supply of imagination?

Yes... witness the new generation of mobile phone snappers.
But what does this have to do with the brilliant macro shots being posted
here?

Doug, yours is an extraordinarily disingenuous and pitiful viewpoint, as
expressed in your post. I find it hard to believe that you could seriously
believe what you've written. It really was just a poor troll directed at
some individuals you disagree with, yes?

Note that the folks who post macros in this (these) groups prove by their
actions that they are capable of *taking* macros - unlike some other
individuals (who shall remain nameless) who:

* put up web pages full of pith and vitriol, claiming skills they do not
possess;
* egregiously insult their critics on same page;
* post significant errors of fact on same page;
* pull the same page down, when the sad errors are pointed out; and then
* fail to either apologise for such rudeness, or to defend the
indefensible position
by providing some sort of proof of process.

Ring any bells?

I can't see any mention in the above which indicates that they wish to
use of a reversing ring between two lenses.

I was about to ask the same thing.

What I liked was his wedding bookings doubled but he took 3 months off
during the busiest time of the wedding year.
I guess by doubled he meant two of his nieces got married and he got to
take some snap shots.

Oh, well that is just the perfect response to my last paragraph
above, isn't it?

You've previously posted about ethics, even linked a website, and
you tout yourself as a professional. You have none of those
qualities as evidenced by your post above.

I've asked this before with no response from you - I wonder what
your "clients" would think when they read the above?

As for actually doing anything for your hit counts/ratings. You
have/had a website called brisbaneweddingphotographers.com or
something like that. Type in "brisbane wedding photographers" in
google and none of your websites appear until page 3. Well done.
Imagine where you'd be if those hits were based on your talents
alone.

No wonder you hide behind so many nyms. But you can't even get
that right, "Sarina the fashion photographer".

Just had a play with Google...
"Brisbane Wedding Photographer" - he isn't on the first page.
"Douglas James" - he's 2nd.
"Weddings and portraits" - he's 5th.
"Brisbane's worst wedding photographer" - he's 2nd.

Whatever he's doing is working!

I can think of a few possible reasons.

1. You only had one booking and wrote it down twice by mistake.
2. Julian and Sarina finally tied the knot.
3. Bridezilla ate her husband and re-married.
4. Marg left you and is marrying her sister.
5. Folks are lining up for a chance to be on the new hit Australian
TV show, "Weddings Gone Wrong."
6. The recent rash of fake EBAY bids.
7. You made it all up.

Where do you got this "BUSTED" bullshit from?
You are so obsessed with me sweetheart, you must have every photo I
ever posted stored on your computer. ROTFL. Jealousy is the most
flattering complement anyone can get. You have it in spades mate.
http://www.annika1980.com must really get up your nose. I must up date
it soon with all your recent stupidity. You really are a jackass to
have an old relic like me own you. LOL.
