most importantly, your friend needs to reduce the size of his
thumbnails to around 5 KB each or less to decrease loading time. With

Almost 3 minutes difference is a lot!

Przede wszystkim, trzeba zmniejszyc te miniaturki do 5 KB lub mniej, by
przyspieszyc czas ladowania strony. Ok. 80% kompresji powinno starczyc.
Sprobuj te linki powyzej. Pierwszy link to oryginalna strona, ktora u
mnie (lacze SDI) ladowala przez 3 minuty, 24 sekund. Drugi link to ta
sama strona z obrazami (wszystkie jpegy, lacznie z tytulem)
zoptimalizowane przeze mnie w IrfanView, na moim serwerze w Lublinie
ktora laduje sie w 44 sek. Taka roznica spowoduje, ze wiele osob po
prostu nie poczeka na strone...

Not bad

They could also do with some downsizing... @ around 250KB each, they
take a long time to download. After all, they're mostly grayscale and
could be compressed well to about 50-70KB each.

I also wanted to mention that the pictures seem to download fully, but
Firefix shows that something is still not loaded, and never finishes.
Are there some kind of wierd scripts in the photo popups?

The few I have downloaded are beautiful.
The thumbnails are too small to evaluate, and the blowups take too
long to download.
