I just took the sandisk card out of my camera and put in my computer then
selected all the pictures on the card and accidentally hit the delete
button.
The pictures are NOT in my Recycle Bin.
Is there a way for me to get these pictures.
I had over 170 pictures on the card that took all morning long to shoot.
I desperately need them.
The card is still in the computer I don't want to take it out in case I
shouldn't.

if there's a write protect tab on the card, now's the time to engage
it.
there are quite a few recovery tools, including:
<http://www.datarescue.com/photorescue/>
<http://www.artplus.hr/adapps/eng/dpr.htm>
i've used the first one and it works well. there are quite a few
others too. >> Stay informed about: Deleted ALL my pictures |

Thanks a lot.
I downloaded the second one (free software).
It's working right now. It's restored 16 photographs so far.
Thanks for your advice and the software info.

Don't panic. The data is still on the card, only the file entries in the
directory have been removed. As long as you don't overwrite the data by
creating new files or by formatting they card chances for retrieving the
files are very good.
There is a large number of tools out there to do that. Google for
"undelete" or "File recovery"

I got all the images back.
Went to this link <http://www.artplus.hr/adapps/eng/dpr.htm>
and downloaded that software. Can't believe it's free.
The software even found and brought into my computer the pictures from my
last photo shoot before the one I had this morning. Somehow they must still
have been on that card.
Thanks

Well, yeah, of course.
Files are not gone just because you delete them from the directory.
Think of the directory as an index in a library. By deleting the entry in
the index the book isnt' gone from the book shelf, either. You can still
reconstruct the index by walking along the shelfs. That's what file recovery
programs do.
Only when you replace the book on the shelf (resp. overwrite the file data
with new data), then the actual content is gone.
