Believe it or not, that is a one second exposure @ f/22, ISO 100.

I depended on the flash to freeze the bird.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Are you borrowing a nuclear-powered femtosecond laser from Lawrence
Livermore for these shots??? Your yard must be littered with toasted birds.

THAT'S where I've been going wrong! I've been using the fridge to freeze
the animals! They certainly stay still long enough for me to get my
shot. But it's rough when a customer wants a good photo of an elephant.
They keep getting their footprints in the cheesecake!! Really nice
photo of this bird, Bret. What was the lens to subject distance?

BTW Anni, I saw a hummingbird today for the first time in my life
while it was eating nectar from some flowers in the yard. The
movement of that little bird makes me appreciate your skill in
capturing this shot.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Wouldn't that be a treat? The old D60 CMOS should at least be good
for 1.5MP instead of 0.2MP. No luck?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Between answering your own posts you can feast your eyes on this 6.3MP image
that I took the other night.
