In another post I already brought up the issue I have with my D300. The
pictures are too dark when there is sunshine involved in any way. Strangely
enough this is not visible on the LCD screen. There they look perfect.

Anyway, I managed to grab a handful and grind them thru Capture NX and make
some adjustments, but not too much.

These pictures are not so big, but I assure you they look razor sharp, even
at 100%. Now lets hope the "issue" will be resolved soon.

Enjoy the show and please let me know what you think. Not so much artistic,
but more a test-drive under different circumstances to see how the New Kid
In Town behaves Wink

I'm hooked!

I enjoyed the slide show Smile A number of those look overexposed to me
though, I have to wonder if your screen is miscalibrated somehow? Or
maybe overcompensating for the darkness issue or maybe that's just the
look you wanted.

Paul-

What gamma are you targetting? A few are on the lightish side, but I
wouldn't say over exposed. I am just getting into gamma stuff, hoping to
more than scratch the surface.

OK I'll fess up that I had not run the adobe gamma thing on my new
computer... (gamma 2.2 now) and the lizard looks much better after doing
so. A few of them still look awfully light though.

Paul! You were right!
My goodness, I feel so stupid!
I had "calibrated" my screen with the tools from Nvidea, but it just seems,
it corrected the colors, not the gamma. So now I have hundreds of pictures
that are much too light! Strange that you're the first one to pint this out
ot me.
Now I can't find the Adobe Gamma thing. Do you know where or how to find it?
Or is there another one somewhere?
Thanks a lot, no wonder people didn't like my pictures so much!

I see the water in the harbour really blown, and the (chinchillas?) are
lighter than they need be.

Photoshop installs it in the control panel.

Yes, of the harbor pix, I see one rendition as Chris describes, and one
that's darker in the foreground than I'd like. Also would love to see
the same view but closer to water level, with the sky perhaps 2/3 of the
frame.

Yes, a few are.

But, "So"- don't panic. Some of your shots look perfect on my screens. I
try to keep my gamma set at 2.2, so on a typical Mac, more would appear
too light.
