CoolScan 8000 ED/LS-8000, difference?

Is there a difference between these two models, if so, what is the
difference? The 8000 ED is the only model shown on Nikon's web site (Hall
of Fame section). I'm aware that the 9000 has replaced any previous MF
models!

It's the same model. The Coolscan 8000 ED is the formal name, the LS-8000
is the firmware name that's fed back to regognize the unit on your system.
