No thanks.

You haven't given a clue as to what sort of photography/printing you
are doing, what your needs and preferences are, or whether you have
done ANY research yourself.
On that basis, I would recommend a Barbie camera.

In article <96ODd.1101$Ii4.817@newsread3.news.pas.earthlink.net>,
stuartquartet.TakeThisOut@earthlink.net says...

Good question. Tough answer. The two biggest diffs that I found were body
construction: D100 much more metal v plastic, and flash sync: D70 higher than
D100. In most comparisons, the cameras are identical. Ex-partner has D100 and
we played a bit with it, and talked about what he would want different. Most
of his needs (retired ad photog who just does "happy snaps" and scenics now)
were found on the D70. I opted for that body and really don't miss anyting,
other than the construction of the D100. It felt more like my F4s, than does
the D70, though I may be the only living human, who wants a touch more bulk in
a camera body! I liked the ergonomics of the D100 w/ longer lenses - it just
seemed to balance a bit better for me, but will live with my D70.

DPReview has a chart of comparisons between these two cameras, as does
NikonUSA's Web site. You might want to see those, and do your own comparison
on features. The differences are subtle, except for the construction and flash
sync. Also, handle both bodies with an array of lenses and see which YOU like
best. The price, now, for these two is really close, and if the D100 gets
replaced in the lineup, it might be a better value.

Oh, and by the way...

"You are one unhapper Mother Chrlz."

What does unhapper mean? Actually, if you mean unhappy, I'm as happy
as a proverbial pig-in-..

"why don't to try this.."

Um, I don't understand. Did you mean - Why don't you try this?

"..If you can help a poster then just SHUT THE F**K up!"

Again, I'm confused. Did you mean if I CAN'T help a poster, to STFU?

"no need for your reply to scott & Prissys post at all."

Scott would probably appreciate it if you used a capital letter.

"Regards Arther Dick"

Is that how you spell your name? Or should it be like in the header?
Can you tell me where you got your schooling? - as I wish to cross it
off the list for my kids.

PS - I note Scott and Prissy have not returned to give even a shred
more information. If they did, I might help. But as it stands, the
Barbie camera remains my recommendation.

So what is your recommendation, Soren, on the basis of the original
post?

And I'm quite calm. (O;

Could you be very specific about the type of behavior that upsets you
so? If you re-read the posts, you will see I am not the one using foul
language, nor was I abusive. If you have no sense of humor, perhaps
you should re-think !your! attendance here? I can only find one post
other than this one to this group from you - do you feel that you are a
long-time contributor who has a right to act as moderator?

If you think that you are representing "humor", it would be a good idea to
"re-think" if possible. I'm not going to waste more time on you, so no need
to answer me.

Love my D100!! One of my Government friends just got some D70's for the Station, so I'll check with him to see how well it's made and handles. Been meaning to get with him and do some comparisons.

Another Gov friend was a devoted D1 user and tried the D100. He liked the camera, but he shoots all RAW and said it processed it too slowly.

I?ll try and find out something for you in a couple of days.
