I really admire the consequent and decisive steps in which
Canon quickly announces *and* releases new products. They
just added some really detailed informations and lovely
animations of this camera, a feast for your eye!

Impressive device. They use two CPU's to process this
immense amount of data per second. Since they are slightly
faster than the Nikon's D2H, they can really claim to
be the fastest D-SLR in the world, and they also provides
twice the number of D2H pixels... Its sure a hit hard to
take by Nikon.

For me though this class of cameras is too big and too
expensive. I am still waiting for the "digital EOS-3"
kind of camera and a 8Mpix sensor...

Looks like the Pixel race is on... Pity.
Pixels are only half the story of digital photography.

Some sample images (full sized jpegs) are available at
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://web.canon.jp/Imaging/eos1dm2/eos1dm2_sample-e.html" target="_blank">http://web.canon.jp/Imaging/eos1dm2/eos1dm2_sample-e.html</a>

I downloaded a couple and printed them without resampling at 12x18" on an Epson
2200, the rez was only 190 ppi but they still make for very nice prints, though
to be honest I also printed 10D files the same size (~170 ppi) and they looked
roughly equivalent. But the 8.5 fps means this will be THE best Canon digital
for wildlife and sports (until the next one Smile

I got tired of waiting for the EOS-3 digital (I use three EOS-3 film bodies
now) and am pre-ordering the Mark II ...

Impressive is the low noise in the 3200 ISO example.

I would have taken the 10D, but I got spooked by these reports
about problems with sharpness with some batches of EOS 10D and
some wide open lenses. I waited so long, I guess I can add one
more year... Smile
