Post subject: Alligator Farm visit
Archived from groups: rec>photo>technique>nature (more info?)

I stopped by the St Augustine Alligator Farm on 8 February. Too early for
any nest building. Lots of black crowned and yellow crowned herons and white
ibis. One green heron. One tricolored heron. Several snowy and great egrets.
A few great blue herons. A couple of white birds that a local birdwatcher
thinks are immature small blue herons, but they could be cattle egrets. He
also said that nest building usually starts 15 February. Most activity in
late afternoon when birds were flying in to roost, but they closed before
sundown. Lots of crocs and gators.

Entrance fee $15.95, less 10% for seniors.
